The Titus 2 Homemaker

I’m rather late posting this, but it’s way too important to overlook.

Sophia Betakyah Ramey was born at 6:00 a.m. on June 4th, weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz. at 20.5 inches long.

She was born at home, into her daddy’s hands in the bathtub, after only about 2 hours of noticeable labor. (I had contractions when I went to bed at midnight, but they weren’t uncomfortable. They woke me at about ten ’til four and were uncomfortable, growing more painful and closer together.) She arrived more quickly than her grandma, who was on her way to lend an extra set of hands! (This left her daddy really scrambling for a little while.)

Her name:

Sophia is Greek. It means “wisdom,” and is found in the Greek New Testament.

Betakyah is Hebrew and, in a sense, my husband made it up. It is two Hebrew words stuck together. The beginning of Proverbs 3:5 (”Trust in the Lord…”) is “betak el yahweh.” Michael dropped the “in” and used the shortened form of God’s name, so Betakyah means “trust Yah(weh).”
