Am I the only one who cannot remember to either a) run around the web checking all of my favorite blogs to see if they’ve been updated, or even b) open up an additional program (feed reader) to see what it has aggregated for me? The simple solution I found was Blogarithm, and I thought I’d share it in case any of my readers are in the same boat. It’s not as easy to add blogs as a feed reader would probably be (I have to either visit the Blogarithm website, or wait for the next email from them), but getting notification of new blog messages is really easy. Every day, I get an email that lists all of my blogs that have been updated, with the first few lines of the newest post (as of the mailing), and the post is hyperlinked so I can click to visit the blog if it looks interesting. Each blog is also accompanied by a drop-down list of several of the most recent posts, so I can jump directly to one of those if I like. The service is completely free, and it has been very handy for me. ![]()

I like Google reader. http://reader.google.com
It handles feeds very well, and I don’t have to carry a feedreader around.

Don’t you have to remember to go to the reader? Or does it just show up on your Google homepage? I always have a hard time navigating the Google stuff (besides the search engine and related features) for some reason.

I use firefox as my browser and have Reader up on one of my tabs all the time. I have about 30 feeds I watch, so I wouldn’t want to be notified hundreds of times a day with news stories. Each time I visit the reader page it shows all of the unread stories from all of the feeds. It marks them read as I scroll through them, so updating is easy. I can also catch up with “mark all read.”
It’s all about what workflow works best for you.

I like www.bloglines.com. It’s one website and it lists all my logs and the ones that have new updates are in bold. I just click on the ones I want to read. And adding someone is just as easy. While on the blog I want to add, I go to my favorites where I’ve put in the subscribe link and it subscribes me to the blog.
