You know those economic stimulus checks the government is planning to issue? We don’t get one. Apparently, we are too poor. Given the logic behind the issuance of this checks, this makes no sense to me. See, the government wants us to spend this money, either on products (new washer and dryer, Cobra golf clubs, Armani suit) or services (new flooring installation, orthodontics, travel arrangement-making). This spending will (at least theoretically) stimulate the economy by creating a flow of money. It seems to me that those who currently spend the least are (as a general rule) those who have the least. So why leave these people, specifically, out of the project? Hubby says it’s probably because they assume that anyone with income at that level is already on government welfare. Hmph. Never assume. ![]()
