No one seems to know how to eat to put on pounds. (Healthfully, I mean - anyone can pack on pounds by eating junk food.) This is such an uncommon problem that it’s really hard to find information to help. Most people are looking for the best fat burners, so this kind of information is readily available. What isn’t so readily available is recommendations of health-building, but fattening, foods. Eating greater quantities of carbs can help, but that only goes so far, as eating too many carbs can do wacky things for one’s blood sugar. The “trick” is to eat carbs that are combined with something else - for example, cheesecake, which is high in carbs, but also in both protein and fat. (Okay, so cheesecake isn’t exactly healthy. But, as desserts go, it isn’t too bad.)
The other option is to choose high-fat options - for example, cream instead of milk in tea or sauces, etc. While those trying to lose weight often replace heavy cream with half-and-half in a sauce recipe, I replace half-and-half with cream! There is something mysterious about this, as fat consumption can actually help one lose weight (because it causes the eater to feel satiated sooner), and yet it makes it easier to stuff more calories into a single meal or snack. I add butter to everything that can take butter.
My best bet is probably to eat lots of carbs - with some fat and/or protein.
